Our Story

Every optician’s dream is to open their own optical store – I am no different. Like any professional in any industry, making the leap was the hardest career decision I’ve ever had to make. I moved away from a secure full-time job with a great work/life balance, steady hours, and a steady income; and jumped intounknown territory. I thought to myself “Where do I even begin!?... First, I need a name for my business!” 

How Boom Optical Became Boom Optical

Our name originated because I was constantly reminded by my non-optician friends that my job was simple... 

 "BOOM – you’re done!"

They didn’t understand all the intricacies that come with the profession such as understanding the various types of lenses or coatings, the uncountable frame options and design, and the ability to fit the right pair of eyewear for each individual's unique facial structures. Finding the right pair to fit the customer's lifestyle can also be challenging! Ironically though, coming up with our store name was THE simplest task to date ... and that’s how Boom Optical began.
